The right way to lay the best tiles
Laying instructions for Scorpio floor tiles
- In a cement and sand ratio of 1:4 prepare the base mortar.
- Set the levels and slopes of the floor as specified by the architect/contractor.
- Prepare a mixture of cement and water to form a thick slurry and spread it on the levelled base mortar.
- Wet the backside of the tile with water. Complete immersion of tile in water is not required.
- If tiles are square or rectangular in space, set the right angles for the area and place the first tile along the right angle line, on base mortar. To obtain perfect levels, tap gently with a rubber or wooden mallet.
- Clean the surface of the tile with clear water and sponge, immediately after laying. Also ensure that the base mortar cement which squeezes through the joints, does not settle on the open surface of the tile. The water used should never be hard or brackish.
- The laid area should be left undisturbed for at least 24 hours
- Fill in the joints with pointing material, which is a mixture of white cement and desired colour pigment. For excellent finish, you can use a polymer based tile joint filter. Mix the same with water to form a smooth paste. Carefully apply it into the joints, preferably using rubber squeeze or rubber sheet. Never apply the pointing materials all over the surface.
- Allow the pointing material to set for 15 minutes. Clean the surface of the tile with a clean wet sponge, to remove the excess pigment on the surface of the tile.
- To obtain a clean surface, wash the surface with soap water or mild detergent.

Layig Instructions for Paver
- Consolidated Ground:- Pavers are too be laid to lines and gentles slope on a previously consolidated ground.Spread earth evently to the area and prepare the ground for wet rolling.Repeated rolling and cosolidating to the required strength is an absolute necessity for proper laying and future stability of the paved area.
- Consolidate the floor with wet sand for minimum 50mm thickness and compact by using plate compactor / vibrators
- . Keep the sand with minimum moisture content .
Do not use sand, which is 100% dry
- Do not spread the sand for larger areas as it will dry out and will reduce the quality of laying
- Lay the interlocking paver in compacted sand floor and tap gentle with a rubber mallet to get perfect joints and to predetermined slopes.
- .Spread sand on laid area to fill the joint /gaps and rum the vibrating plate compactor gently with a layer of soft material between paver surface and vibrating plate to get the perfect level . Construct kerbs all around the laid area to prevent movement of pavers.
- It is recommended to provide the slopes of 40:1 preferably to the adjacent sides.
